The Band History
When the band first asked me to write a history page for the website, I thought no problem.  But once I began writing it I realized there was much more to it than simply some people meeting and having an affinity for similar music.  It goes way beyond that.
When Kim answered my ad in the Music Connection for a female singer, it was already 3 months old and no longer even running.  I was burnt out opening my door to the most varied assortment of flakes  and characters coming out of the Hollywood woodwork.  Add to that Kim's own audition nightmares and you get two people who were irritated and had no patience for any crap.  We got in an argument over the phone during our first conversation and I think it has continued through to this day.  It's an endearing quality that makes our band machinery work smoothly.  There are always squabbles between siblings of any family, but at least we got to pick each other.  Several CD's later we got to pick again when we answered Rob's Internet ad and right away he became another family member.  We don't look for it to happen, it just does. Close friends have always been in and out of the band and I'm sure that it will continue through the coming years as SY is constantly evolving and growing.  So in the end what keeps the band together is the relationships involved and that's the history of this band.
